Configure Mi TV Remote Controller with Any Cable/DTH Set Top Box
Nowadays your TV and cable TV/DTH remote can be controlled through a single universal remote. It is handy when we do not want to search for separate controllers.
This article deals with configuring or pairing a Mi TV remote with almost any STB.
It can control more than 48 DTH / Cable brands and 3500 + operators.
Newly launched Mi TVs by Xiaomi are coming with a remote that also can be configured with almost any STB available in India. By default, it is not configured with any STB.
It can be configured through the Sensy TV app on the TV.
But before that, we have to buy an additional device called the Mi IR cable Set-top-box controller which is available on the Mi.com website for Rs 249 (The shipping charge is additional).
Your STB is being controlled by a TV remote with the help of this controller only. Also, note that this IR controller works only with Mi TVs.
The use of this Mi IR controller is to convert the signal from the TV to a suitable IR signal for the smooth operation of STB.
That means when we are selecting a particular channel on TV, the Mi IR cable set-top box controller converts the command from TV to a corresponding IR frequency of that particular channel.
Here Mi IR cable is used to convert the command from the Mi TV remote to an IR command acceptable for the set-top box. This IR frequency is easily understandable by the STB and it will be triggered.
You can buy a Mi TV replacement remote controller from Amazon if your original remote is not functional or damaged.
