Configure Mi TV remote controller with any Cable/DTH Set Top Box

Nowadays your TV and cable TV/DTH remote can be controlled through a single universal remote. It is a very useful thing when we do not want to search for separate controllers. This article deals with the procedure to configure Mi TV remote with almost any STB. It can control more than 48 DTH / Cable brands and 3500 + operators.

Newly launched  Mi TVs by Xiaomi are coming with a remote which also can be configured with almost any STB available in India. By default, it is not configured with any STB.

It can be configured through the Sensy TV app on the TV. But before that, we have to buy an additional device called Mi IR cable Set-top box controller which is available in Mi.com website at a price of Rs 199 (Shipping charge is additional). Your STB is being controlled by a TV remote with the help of this controller only. Also, note that this IR controller works only with Mi TVs.

Before configuring the process this IR cable set-top box controller should be connected to your TV’s USB port and other end of this controller carry IR transmitters. This end carrying IR transmitters should be facing towards the front face of the Cable/DTB set-top box (STB).

Now your hardware set up is ok and proceed to configure them in settings.

Next, go to the aforementioned Sensy TV app on your TV do the configuration through the instructions on your TV screen.

If in any case these settings are not worked for you, it may happen due to some variations in STB models, try to change the channels through Mi TV remote by selecting different remote options available in the setup by trial and error method.
